Teresa Krehel brings over 20 years of experience in the healing arts, as a full-time Reiki and Reflexology practitioner. As a certified Jikiden Reiki Shihan (teacher), she offers Jikiden Reiki classes for Shoden (1st) and Okuden (2nd) levels.
Teresa initially trained as a Certified Reflexologist in 1996. In 2010, she re-trained with Mr. Dwight Byers to become internationally certified with the International Institute of Reflexology. She repeats this training every 2 years to maintain her certification with the IIR.
In 1997, she began her studies in Western Reiki , achieved the Reiki Master/Teacher level and taught all levels of Western Reiki classes.
In 2011, Teresa trained with the Jikiden Reiki Institute of Kyoto, Japan, completing the Shoden and Okuden practitioner levels, with Mari Okazaki, and introduced this traditional Japanese Reiki to the Okanagan Valley. She continued her studies with Mr. Tadao Yamaguchi and by 2013 she was certified as a Jikiden Reiki Shihan (Teacher). She reviews the classes each year and is dedicated to presenting the Shoden and Okuden classes exactly as they were traditionally taught.
In the autumn of 2016, Teresa travelled to Kyoto, Japan, to attend the Jikiden Reiki 2nd World Congress, where she met with over 220 participants from 25 different countries and toured the historic Reiki sites. Visiting Mount Kurama, birthplace of Reiki, and Taniai, village of Reiki founder Mikao Usui, expanded Teresa's understanding and appreciation for the down-to-earth simplicity, beauty and practicality of the traditional Japanese Reiki teachings.
Since 2008, Teresa has owned and operated inSpire Wellness Studio in Vernon BC. She conducts her classes at her studio and is also presenting classes throughout BC.
